The Via Nevesa housing estate is located in the Milan area that used to host the early 20th century metalwork factories in the 1980s, and it consists of 2 underground floors and 2 intersecting tower buildings with respectively 13 and 7 floors above ground.
The redevelopment project is conceived as a permeable interface to the city, a place where the metropolis, nature and humans constantly interchange in synergy.
The glass facades break the vertical rhythm of the bronze-finished metal decorations that make the building soar skyward.
The picture is completed by four external elevators going up to the scenic rooftop, a green space for tenants, 230 parking spots, exhibition areas and some space dedicated to urban agriculture.

Matching such a complex construction design with the unpredictability of the existing building, especially to accommodate the facades onto the frame structure, was anything but an easy task.
Owing to 3D modeling and the BIM process for information-based data management, we could ensure a flow of up-to-date and contextualized information, which turned out to be useful for rapid problem solving.
