Vito De Stefano

Project & Construction Manager

“If a problem is yet unsolved, it does not mean it is impossible to solve”

A passionate surveyor and creator of the D&D Engineering studio in 1996, Vito undoubtedly represents an institution, with a pinch of crazy resourcefulness and irony.

Patience, humility and the desire to always take on new challenges have always guided him in his education and his professional career, which began practically when he was very young, breathing the air of construction sites around Italy, alongside his father.

When he moved to Milan with his family in 1966, Vito already had clear ideas: he wanted to be part of the process of designing and building the buildings of tomorrow at all costs.

The Milanese scene is the perfect place to pursue his dream and take the leap: first in his academic journey, which he successfully completed in 1974, and then by joining one of the most prominent construction companies of the time: Romagnoli Spa. He stayed there for 22 years, enhancing his expertise in design and site management, while also expanding the company’s business by securing some of the most strategic public works of that period across various sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, and logistics.

His innate leadership and problem-solving skills enable him to successfully manage and coordinate projects and construction sites in both the public and private sectors, navigating with insight through the various stages of the evolution of Italian construction.

The breakthrough comes in 1996, when he decides to embark on the D&D Engineering project with his brother Elio. Vito and Elio have a vision of their own: they aim to offer the market cost control and site management services. It has been a forward-looking breakthrough that anticipated the future: “Cost control will play a pivotal role in construction”.
No vision could have been more prophetic.

Vito represents history, experience, but also the future—a valuable mind and operational force.

His relentless curiosity and desire to experiment bring him closer to new applied design technologies, such as BIM, which he fully embraces in his work. His comprehensive and cross-disciplinary vision of the entire construction process is his greatest strength.
