“Anyone can make something complicated. Only a few people can make it simple”
Often jokingly nicknamed “The Butcher” for being the master of cost-cutting, Elio has always been a specialist in price analysis and the search for alternative technical solutions that allow for savings in project design or on-site execution.
His stubbornness and exceptional oratory skills embody the more commercial and fiery spirit of D&D Engineering, always ready to take on new challenges.
Vito’s younger brother, Elio, also developed his passion for concrete and bricks within the family. A surveyor by vocation—if not by birthright—he completed his studies in 1984. Soon after, in the backdrop of Milan’s bustling scene of the ’80s and ’90s, the doors of Romagnoli Spa opened for him as well.
For the next eleven years, he took on a variety of roles, from hands-on positions such as assistant in reinforced concrete work to more strategic ones in procurement, bidding, and accounting. It was during this time that he developed a fervent passion for the economic aspects of construction, increasingly specializing in the relentless pursuit of alternative building solutions aimed at cost optimization.
Equally pivotal was the experience gained in bid preparation offices, where his deep understanding of construction dynamics, combined with his expertise in costs and materials, often made a significant impact. His contributions led the company to secure numerous prestigious contracts in the healthcare and welfare sectors, as well as in infrastructure. He later played an active role in these projects as a Site Manager.
His contagious enthusiasm and ability to simplify the impossible proved crucial in 1996, when the D&D Engineering project was launched. Today, Elio is a key figure, a point of reference, and a unifying presence for the entire team. By sharing his extensive knowledge of joints, assemblies, stratigraphy, and cost control, Elio plays an active and invaluable role in the continuous refinement of the projects delivered to our clients.
